Karel Ficenec 1970 Karel was born 1970 in Ústí nad Labem, Czechoslovakia. He is the son of Karel Ficenec & Zdeňka (Hocke) Ficenecová. Karel and Olga Pívalová, born 1978 in Praha, Czechoslovakia, have one child, Irena, born 2007. In August of 2006, we received an e-mail from Karel with a link to his Czech webpage for a band that he is playing mandolin in, as well as links to pages for his elder brother Michal (who lived in Králový Vary), his younger brother Jan (who lived in Usti nad Labem) and his parents. Karel played in a band called the Westec Boys, then most of the band became the band Burizon. We've found them a couple times on web searches, playing in or around Caslav. Here's Karel playing in Caslav at the Fotoreportáž z Banjo Jamboree on Saturday, June 24, 2006:
