Franz "Frank" Ficenec 1877 Franz ('Frank' here in the US) immigrated to the United States in 1910, followed a year later by his wife and daughter. What we know so far of him: Franz arrived on October 9 on the ship George Washington that departed from Bremen, Germany. It lists him as a 33-year-old, married man from Austria. It lists his nearest relative as his wife, Kristine, and his final destination as Oakland, California. è Passenger List from the George Washington Kristine & Anna Ficenec arrived on January 26 on the ship Prinz Friedrich Wilhelm that departed from Bremen, Germany. It lists Kristine as a 34-year-old, married woman, and Anna (1895) as a 15-year-old single woman from Austria. è Passenger List from the Prinz Friedrich Wilhelm Our last mention of Franz is his World War I Draft Registration Card, which lists him from Alameda, California, and has his birthdate as November 26, 1877. It shows his occupation as "Poultry Man" and as his own boss - presumably he owned & ran a chicken farm with his wife. è WWI Draft Registration Card / WWI Draft Registration Report |
