Frances (Ficenec) Drozda 1862-19??
Charles Drozda 1858-19??

Frances was the second child of Jan Ficenec.  According to the 1885 Nebraska State Census, she was born in Bohemia, but family records show she was raised in Plasi, a small farm-town in Saunders County, Nebraska.  The 1920 Census says she came to the US in 1866, but we haven't found the family's immigration records yet.

She married Charles Drozda (1858), also an immigrant from Bohemia living in Nebraska - he came over in 1878.  In the 1880 Census, Charles was living as a hired man on the farm of Thomas Simanek in Elk, Nebraska, so he and Frances must have married between 1880 and 1885.

The 1920 Census shows Charles & Mary living in Ord, Nebraska, with their adult daughters Mary (35), Frances (28) & Agnes (20).  Another family record shows a son, Joseph F. (Jan 11, 1893 - May 21, 1954) who lived in David City, Nebraska with his wife Margaret (Reisdorff) Drozda (1894-1954) and at least two children, Evan and Eugene (1919)

We've also been told they had at least seven or eight children:  Mary being the oldest & Josie being the youngest, and that some of the kids died of diphtheria.
