Ethel (Ficenec) Raphael 1907-1997 Ethel was the sixth child of Frank & Mary Ficenec. She was born in Weston, a small farm-town in Saunders County, Nebraska where her mother was from on April 4, 1907. She married Ray Raphael (1/20/1896) on June 23, 1934 at St. Vincent's Church in Stirum, a small farm-town in Sargent County, North Dakota. They had six children: Raymond, Eileen, Richard, Florence, John and Judy. Ethel died November 7, 1997 in White Bear Lake, Minnesota - six years after Ray died there on September 11, 1991 - and is buried there in St. Mary's Cemetery. Richard was born in Breckenridge, Minnesota on March 27, 1942. He married Arlene Haugen (7/7/1942) from Wahpeton, North Dakota, on December 30, 1961 in Fargo, North Dakota. Florence was born in Breckenridge, Minnesota on October 13, 1943. She married Ray Vastag (3/28/1943) of Hebron, North Dakota, in 1965 in McLaughun, South Dakota. They have four children: Kari Jo (4/25/1970), Michael Ray (9/22/1971), James Paul (1/30/1976) and Becky Sue (2/22/1978). John was born in Breckenridge, Minnesota on January 15, 1948. He married Sharyl Gracek (2/5/1951) of Hutchinson, Minnesota, on November 13, 1971 in Silver Lake, Minnesota. They have three children: Johnathon Scott (8/18/1973), Maria Teresa (12/8/1976) and Katharine Ann (9/27/1978). |
