Francis is the fourth child of Frank & Stazie Ficenec.  He was born near Milnor, a small farm-town in Ransom County, North Dakota where his family lived, on September 4, 1934.  He married Veronica Marion Ciesynski of Cayuga, North Dakota on June 27, 1964 in Geneseo, North Dakota.  Veronica is the child of Frank & Hilda Ciesynski.  She was born in Cayuga, a small farm-town in Sargent County, North Dakota where her family lived, on January 1, 1939.  Francis ran the family farm for 20 years, and then moved his family to Pendleton, Oregon in 1977.  Then in 1985 they moved to their current location in Pilot Rock, Oregon.  They have three children:
