Mary (Ficenec) Echtermeyer 1867-19?? Mary was the fifth child of Jan Ficenec. According to the 1910 Census, she was born in Iowa, but family records show she was raised in Plasi, a small farm-town in Saunders County, Nebraska. è 1910 Census page from Nebraska She married Bruno Echtermeyer (1860), a German immigrant carpenter living in Nebraska, around 1887. Bruno came to the US in 1878. In the 1910 Census, we see that they are living in Omaha, Nebraska, and they have six children living with them at the time: Anna A. (22 - listed as a bookkeeper), Theodore (16 - listed as a carpenter), Frank B. (14), Margaret (12), William (10) and Herbert (5). |
