Anna (Ficenec) Kaufmann 1855-19?? Anna emigrated to the United States in the mid 1800's with her parents from Bohemia (what is now the northern and western two-thirds of the Czech Republic). The first record we have of Anna & Charles is that they married in 03 JUL 1871 , Douglas Co., Nebraska. Reference comes from the Marriages, Douglas County, Nebraska, 1856-1875. Charles and family show up in the 1880 Census in Omaha. Charles is Head of Household, born in Prussia, and listed as a barber. With them are sons Charles (1873), Eddie (1875), daughter Christine (1876), and baby Julius (1878). Also in the household is Anna's sister, Kate (1861), listed as a dressmaker. è 1880 Census page from Omaha In 1889-1890, Charles shows up in an Omaha directory as having a business at 1715 S 10th in insurance, real estate and loans. Charles Jr. is listed as a clerk working for S P Morse & Co at the same address. Charles Kaufmann Jr. and Julius then show up in the 1900 Censuses in Douglas, Nebraska as boarders in the house of Clara Lorentz. This census lists Charles as being born in Illinois and Julius in Nebraska. Anna Kaufmann shows up in the 1910 Censuses in Omaha, Nebraska, listed as Head of Household and widowed. Also listed living with her are son Charles (1873), listed as widowed; her son Julius C. (1878), listed as single; daughter Anna E. (1888), listed as single; and a granddaughter Anna L. (1904) - presumably daughter of Charles Jr.. è 1910 Census page from Omaha Anna shows again in the 1920 Census, this time with daughter Elizabeth (Anna E. - 1888), and renting rooms to two boarders.
