Frank emigrated to the United States in 1867 with his parents from Bohemia (what is now the northern and western two-thirds of the Czech Republic).  In the 1880 Census Frank is 14, living on his father's farm in Elk, Nebraska and listed as a "helper on farm".  By the 1920 Census, Frank is still living in Elk with a wife named Marie (1862) who's parents both came from Czech.  He's listed as having no occupation (at age 54), and they have a niece, Emma Ficenec (23) living with them listed as a paid housekeeper.
